The Gloss Fuel brand was conceived in 2022 and launched onto the UK detailing scene one year later in 2023. In this review, we take a look at one of their ‘Triple Gloss System’ products – Gloss Fuel Quick Detailer Spray. This traditional QDS is a water based, hybrid polymer quick detailer and gloss enhancer. It’s simple to apply and extremely effective as a standalone product. But when used in conjunction with their pH neutral Gloss Enhancing Shampoo and Gloss Enhancing Drying Aid, offers unrivalled levels of paintwork enhancement.

Gloss Fuel Quick Detailer Spray Product Description
The Quick Detailer Spray from Gloss Fuel is a sweet scented, super slick, gloss enhancing quick detailer spray (QDS). The hybrid silicone wax infused formulation means that the product adds gloss, but won’t smear or streak on application.Â
This safe, easy to use quick detailer adds extreme levels of gloss to painted body panels. Gloss Fuel QDS can be used on almost every exterior surface of your vehicle including paint, metal trim, plastic trim and wheels.
Gloss Fuel Quick Detailer Spray is simple to apply and works to complement and enhance other paste waxes and liquid paint sealants, offering additional protection and slickness.
About the Gloss Fuel Brand
The brand was founded by two friends who share a lifelong passion for motorsport, in particular the World Rally Championship. Rally is the high octane, high action motorsport where cars drive as fast as possible, on gravel roads and get dirty – very dirty. The friends also share a passion for cleaning and detailing cars – their own and the occasional rally car.
The founders have between them, a wealth of knowledge and know-how from the automotive engineering sector and graphic design and marketing disciplines.
Both are passionate about car care and detailing but noticed that the industry was falling behind on sustainability. Other industries are embracing more environmentally friendly solutions. Gloss Fuel are reducing plastic waste in the car care market. Their innovative ‘Refuel Packs’ and easy to recycle post and packing materials help achieve this.
Gloss Fuel aim to cater to the weekend warriors, experienced driveway detailers and car care professionals alike. Gloss Fuel offer an authentic, affordable and effective system of products. Ones which offer sustainability and a lower impact on the environment. Remember to reuse, refill or refuel your Gloss Fuel bottles with one of their eco-friendly refuel packs!

How to Use Gloss Fuel QDS Quick Detailer
Before you use Gloss Fuel Quick Detailer Spray, you need to carefully wash your car. For a complete step-by-step guide on how to safely wash your car, check out our PRO Detailer in-depth guide.
As a Traditional Quick Detailer Spray
Gloss Fuel Quick Detailer Spray is a traditional, non-ceramic, gloss enhancing Quick Detail Spray. You spray this Last Stage Protection (LSP) product onto your vehicle, after the contact wash, then buff off with a microfiber towel, to reveal a high-gloss, wet-look shine.
Before using Gloss Fuel Quick Detailer, gently shake the bottle to ensure that the ingredients are properly mixed. Liquid detailing products like Quick Detailer Sprays can occasionally suffer from chemical separation if left to stand for a period of time. Mixing the chemicals will help you to achieve the best results when using the product.
PRO TIP
Always read the manufacturer instructions before using any chemical product.
It can be used on both waxed, protected or un-protected cars, on wet or dry paintwork, and can be used as a drying aid.
As a Drying Aid
If you follow our step-by-step guide on how to safely wash your car, you have a couple of different options on how to use this traditional Quick Detailer Spray.
To use Gloss Fuel Quick Detailer Spray as a drying aid, complete the safe wash process through step 7. Then apply a couple of sprays of Gloss Fuel Quick Detailer Spray and dry each panel with a soft, clean microfiber drying towel. The quick detailer will serve two functions if used in this way.
Firstly it will add extra lubricity as you dry the paintwork, helping to minimise swirls and micro-marring which can be induced from towel drying. Secondly, it will add some gloss and protection as well as reducing the chances of water spots being left behind.
Finally, dry your vehicle as normal and apply the Gloss Fuel Conditioning Tyre Serum to dress your tires.
PRO TIP
Always use a high-quality, soft, twisted-loop microfiber drying towel to reduce micro-marring and swirl marks.Â
To use Gloss Fuel QDS more like a typical Quick Detailer Spray, complete the safe wash process through step 8, then apply a couple of sprays of Gloss Fuel Quick Detailer Spray directly onto a clean dry panel.
Working one panel at a time, gently and carefully spread the product across the entire panel using the microfiber. Flip the towel to a dry side, or use a fresh microfiber, to buff to a high gloss finish.

Ease of Application of Gloss Fuel Quick Detailer
Whether you’re using Gloss Fuel QDS as a drying aid or regular QDS, it’s super easy to use on any vehicle. It is incredibly slick to apply and we’ve seen no streaking or smearing. This is despite applying it directly onto dark colored, warm body panels, in less than ideal conditions.
For best results, work one panel at a time, misting two or three sprays onto a clean microfiber towel or spraying directly onto a cool, clean body panel. Spread the product evenly over the panel with the microfiber. Then flip the towel to a dry side, or use a fresh towel, then buff to remove excess product.
PRO TIP
Spray Gloss Fuel Quick Detailer Spray onto a dedicated, wheel only microfiber towel, wipe over each alloy wheel face and buff, to add insane levels of gloss.

Benefits of Using Gloss Fuel QDS
Gloss Fuel Quick Detailer Spray adds an extra layer of wet-look gloss to your paintwork and trim. As a traditional Quick Detailer Spray it can also be used to remove water marks, light dust and finger prints. Gloss Fuel QDS also adds some light, hydrophobic protection, though this won’t last as long as a traditional wax or sealant.
In terms of the amount of gloss that Gloss Fuel QDS adds, it’s very noticeable. We rate it very highly, amongst the top three when compared to rival products in its class. This quick detailer spray also adds a superior level of slickness to the touch.
Another benefit of this traditional Quick Detail Spray from Gloss Fuel, is that it is safe to use on top of waxes. You can safely use Gloss Fuel Quick Detailer Spray on top of pre-existing or fresh layers of wax.
Gloss Fuel Quick Detailer Spray can be used as a drying aid. Following our ‘How-To’ application guide above, apply Gloss Fuel QDS after your regular wash routine, before towel drying. Not only will it add lubricity, but it will also leave behind extra gloss which helps to improve the look of your car.
How Long Does Gloss Fuel Quick Detailer Spray Last?
Gloss Fuel Quick Detailer Spray is not designed to be a durable detailer spray. It’s not designed to withstand multiple wash cycles over a number of weeks. We’ve found that this traditional style Quick Detailer Spray can boost gloss and protection for one to two weeks at most. It should be noted that the durability of any LSP product can vary, and as such, your mileage with this product may vary.
Value for Money of Gloss Fuel Quick Detailer Spray
Gloss Fuel QD is great value for money, with the cost of a typical application (based on 25-35ml of product) of around $0.75 per car. Gloss Fuel QDS is available in both 500ml trigger spray bottles and 1000ml eco-friendly ‘Refuel Packs’. When your 500ml trigger spray bottle is empty, simply top it up from a handy Refuel Pack.
Gloss Fuel Packaging & Labelling
The Gloss Fuel brand identity and labelling is superb. The 500ml gloss black bottles are paired with good quality trigger sprays. These triggers have a good draw and provide consistent spray output throughout the trigger spray cycle. The product labels are colored coded, so identifying each product in the Gloss Fuel range is super simple. The labels are clear, easy to read and provide simple to follow instructions and straightforward safety information.
Conclusion
Gloss Fuel QDS is probably my favourite Quick Detailer Spray in the PRO Detailer Tips garage. It’s fantastic at boosting gloss, adding a layer of protection and can remove water spots at the end of a contact wash. Plus, I adore the sweet fragrance. But then again, I’m a sucker for a sweet Bubble Gum or Jelly Bean scented product!
Regardless of whether or not your car is waxed, sealed or ceramic coated, this is a fantastic, versatile product. If your paintwork is unprotected and suffering from minor swirls or wash marring, then use this QDS in conjunction with the Gloss Fuel pH neutral Gloss Enhancing Shampoo and Gloss Enhancing Drying Aid. Their ‘Triple Gloss System’ works wonders at cleaning, protecting and enhancing the look of your car. Minor imperfections and swirls disappear and the gloss levels are off the scale!
